TIRALO : an amphibious wheelchair for disabled persons

A wheelchair for the beach that is safe and reliable

Image

The Tiralo is a floating unit with a maximum user weight capacity of 130 kg, which must be maneuvered by an attendant whose job is to make sure safety instructions are strictly followed, such as avoiding waves and rushing water, and staying in shallow water.

It is best to use the Tiralo in calm waters, in supervised swimming areas that meet the above requirements.

The user must not be strapped to the seat. If he/she does not know how to swim, a life-jacket must be used.

Tiralo

The Tiralo is a wheelchair designed for the beach for people with reduced mobility. It is an amphibious wheelchair which enables the user to move along the ground and float in the water without any modifications to the wheelchair. Thanks to the Tiralo, a person with a disability who is accompanied can now access the beach more easily, and enjoy bathing in calm waters. It is increasingly available on beaches with the Handiplage label, near hotels and campgrounds which offer disabled access in the context of accessible tourism and recreation for all.
